The Parliamentary Commissioner for Future Generations invited the prestigious Balaton Group to think together and share experiences on how to best achieve the goals of the Commissioner’s Office. Following the short introduction of the two participating organizations, members of the Office and the Group worked together in small interactive groups and discussed problematic cases. The renowned members of Balaton Group gave insightful advice on the specific cases, communication issues and strategic directions. In the second part of the event the following topics proposed by the participants were discussed: sustainability indicators, the role of science in policy-making, effective communication of climate change to decision-makers, communication strategies involving sustainability issues.
