The 11th edition of Green Week will take place from 24 to 27 May 2011 in Brussels. This year's theme is "Resource Efficiency - Using less, living better". Last year the conference attracted over 3400 experts from all over the world. There were attendees from government, business and industry, non-governmental organisations, academia and the media. The session “Monitoring our impact on the environment: the role of Ombudsmen” will be held on Wednesday, the 25th of May from 16.30 to 18.00. The Hungarian Commissioner’s presentation will reintroduce the functions of the Ombudsman’s office and will highlight the results, key challenges and problems of the last years.
During his stay in Brussels Mr. Fülöp will deliver a lecture on 25 May at the Hearing on Rio+20 of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety of the European Parliament, on the issue of Sustainable Development Governance - how can it be improved?
Additional meetings were also scheduled for the green ombudsman with leading expert groups, furthermore Hungarian EU officials and representatives.
